The spanish empire

Castillo R.jpg

Also known as Mendoza’s Castle, was a castle built by ordinance of the First Duke of Infantado, Diego Hurtado de Mendoza y de la Vega, at the end of the 15th century, before Columbus discovered America in 1492. In those years the Spanish reconquest was ending successfully.

The castle has two architectures: Military architecture, for defense with big walls and towers; and palatial architecture inside, to demostrate the wealth and power that were arising in Spain.

This castle is the symbol of the power of an empire that was to come and would be a new storm in the world, a storm that lasted for four centuries. One of the biggest and most important in world history, the spanish empire.
Pure architecture, pure history.
